It’s been over a year in the process and a few years in my brain, but we finally received our FIT contract from the Government of Ontario to install our first solar array at our corporate headquarters at 170 Sharer Road in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada. Official construction begins in November of this year with scheduled completion by March 2011. This is an exciting move for us as we have the opportunity to showcase our dedication to Earth and creating a sustainable environment for the future. We would like to thank the Ontario Government for being a leader in this field and look forward to telling you about more initiatives that we are involved in to bring about a greener planet. I strongly encourage anyone with some roof space to spare to do some research into this program.
I stopped by our environmental partner, Earth Rangers, earlier this week to witness their installation of a new parking lot, complete with a Sun-Tracker Solar Panel installation above and Geo Thermal below. EarthRangers.Org is the single greatest organization that I have had the privilege of being associated with and we are a proud sponsor . Earth Rangers is dedicated to making the planet a better place through education. They have a vast amount of animals that they use to educate youth about ways to be friendlier to our planet and have built a world class facility dedicated to proving sustainable renewable energy and resources in Woodbridge, Ontario at the Kortright Centre for Conservation.
On the topic of leaders, we are overwhelmed to have been selected to provide all of the millwork and metal elements of Shoppers Drug Mart’s uber-successful Beauty Boutique program. We are at the tail end of completing our first site in Georgetown, Ontario and look forward to many more of these exciting locations commencing in January, 2011. For those who may be unfamiliar with the program, Beauty Boutique is the section of select Shoppers Drug Mart locations that is dedicated to a higher level of cosmetics, skin care and perfumery items. It is a beautiful design and we are proud to again be involved in the program.
Things are crazy busy in the wood division right now as among our already heavy workload with all of our other clients, Best Buy has again challenged us to build and deliver 38 stores of their successful Cell Shop program over the next two months.
Lastly, but not least, we are again very proud to have been selected as one of Canada’s Hot 50 fastest growing companies in Canada by Profit Magazine. Our official ranking has not been released at this point, but the honour bestowed upon us for a second time in a row in a testament to a strong and dedicated team of professionals that are dedicated to making our clients lives as easy as possible and having some fun along the way.
